Dymondwood 270 Comb Prototype
Features custom machined brass threaded inserts for both reed plate screws and mouthpiece screws for longevity of the instrument, and mosaic inlay in the back of the comb. This was done as an experiment and never developed into an item that I sold. The problem was with obtaining dymondwood in thicknesses that were suitable for chromatic combs. To Make this comb I had to laminate two thinner pieces of the material but this led to potential delamination over time. Recently the factory that produces dymondwood was destroyed by a fire making dymondwood harder to get these days. However if and when it becomes available again this may be something that I revisit.
